Having forgotten the vast majority of these songs while my ex had the only copies of them, reading them now immediately conjures up many emotions, memories and thoughts about them. The most prevalent of these thoughts are “wow, these songs are fucking terrible, how did I ever manage to a)write them, b)enjoy them and c)get other people to like them.” I am convinced now that, for the most part, people were just being nice when they said they liked them. I really cannot fathom how anyone could get any enjoyment out of the majority of the songs, but I suppose the “different strokes for different folks” rule applies here. There are a few songs that I am quite fond of, notably A Pedophile Waiting to Happen, What It’s Like to be a Lawn Gnome, A Tragic and Cliched Ending and When Good Monkeys Go Bad, and some that I am intrigued by, such as Famous Last Words and Sort of a Love Song. There are some that I really wish I had never written, but for the most part, I suppose I am mostly indifferent to the majority of them. They are what they are and at this point there isn’t much use in fretting about them now. So here they are, enjoy if you can.
One thing to mention, I did not write the notes for the songs in the order they are presented- at first I just wrote notes for whatever songs caught my eye, and then near the end, I went alphabetically, so if it seems disjointed, that would be why.
